Ne construisez pas un soi

Un étudiant zen qui rendait visite à Ajahn Chah  demanda :

"Quel âge avez-vous ? Est-ce que vous vivez toute l'année ici?"

"Je ne vis nulle part", répondit-il. "Vous ne pouvez me trouver nulle part. Je n'ai pas d'âge. Pour avoir un âge, il faut exister, et  penser que vous existez est déjà un problème. Ne créer pas de problèmes ; et ainsi le monde n'en aura pas non-plus. Ne construisez pas un soi. Il n'y a rien de plus à dire."

"A visiting Zen student asked Ajahn Chah, "How old are you? Do you live here all year round?" "I live nowhere," he replied. "There is no place you can find me. I have no age. To have age, you must exist, and to think you exist is already a problem. Don't make problems; then the world has none either. Don't make a self. There's nothing more to say."
